Outreach week in Dömös, Hungary

The team from UK was Phil Davies, Tom Binding, Zac Whitehouse (all from Swansea), Ember from Taiwan (First Serve), Chelsea from Ayrshire, and me. We were strongly supported by Livia, Laura, Krisztian, Virág, Emese, Tunde, Ákos, Katrin, Dani and from Hungary. As a team we met each day for prayer and Bible study. The theme for the study was lessons from the book of Jonah.

The focus of the week was teaching English through a variety of activities. The first English activity of the day was a “Holiday Bible Club” based on Jonah with songs and stories. We then broke into age related groups for a language-based programme. In the afternoon the children chose a workshop to follow for the whole week, each group, drama, music and art focused on Jonah and on the final day we had a presentation to parents.

We also had a programme for adults based on the Platinum Jubilee of the Queen. All participants received a copy of a book on the faith of the Queen. We had a number of long conversations with parents and friends. We all felt that the Lord was with us and we had great opportunities to present our faith to young and old.
